Year Two 36/365 : Bonfire Night

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.

Normally on Guy Fawkes Night you would see a picture of some beautiful fireworks or maybe a roaring bonfire... well this is what you get from me. Yes it's blurry but we were going like 60 mph but you get the idea.

This is a plume of smoke from one of the many bonfires we passed on our way to Liverpool. We passed plenty of fireworks also but I just couldn't get a good picture from the car. It was funny while we were walking to Goodison Park because it felt like we were under attack with all of the fireworks going off from all around us.

Unfortunately Everton lost 0-2 but it doesn't change the fact that I love Bonfire Night! I love the chill in the air and I love the smell of the bonfires. I know my cats could do without the fireworks but hey it makes up for the lack of them on July 4th.

Year Two 35/365 : Do It Yourself

When you don't have Hamburger Helper what do you do? You just do it yourself without The Helping Hand.

All you need is hambuger, noodles, chopped peppers, chopped tomatoes (that is ta-may-toes), chilli powder and cheese sauce.

Who needs pre-packaged convenience meals?

Year Two 34/365 : Stalker

I am so starting to feel like a stalker at work! I snapped this photo of Georgia (left) and Imy (right) as they were looking outside at the downpour that had started around 5 minutes before.

I forgot my camera today (first time in one year and 34 days that has happened) so I had to take this picture with my iPhone.

It has rained a little bit each day for the last few days... I am loving it!

Year Two 33/365 : Toasty Tootsies

Andy ran into Asda after work tonight to get some cold medicine as he is not feeling very well. Well while he ran in there I went into Marks and Spencer to try to find some toe socks but they did not have any.

However... I did find these wonderful, soft, cozy, warm socks and they are great. Even better they were on sale for £2.00!

I love these socks.

Year Two 32/365 : Casualties

No Trick or Treaters means that we have to eat all of the chocolate that was left behind... To be honest I would rather have been able to hand it out to cute little kids in costumes.

On the brighter side I baked the pumpkin seeds today and they are yummy... yummy... YUMMY!

Year Two 31/365 : Happy Halloween (American Style)

Here are our Halloween pumpkins this year! I am very glad I brought some pumpkin carving templates with us in the move because you can not buy them over here. Although I was pretty popular at work because of them! There were quite a few people that made copies for their own pumpkins. Which made me happy as it was a way for me to pass on my American Halloween vibe! It will be my mission to get every man, woman and child to celebrate Halloween as we do in the good old U. S. of A.

This was my open invitation to trick or treaters but as the same as last year... nobody came! Ugh.

This is Andy's evil Gargoyle!

I think this is a cute little ghost in a graveyard but Andy says it looks like a goalie ghost trying to save a penalty!

I am also happy to report that the pumpkin seeds have been washed and are now drying so that I can bake them tomorrow. Yummy!

[Side Note: You may notice that I added the tag 'Holiday Non UK' because to me it is just not the same as in the US, but as I mentioned above I am on a mission.]

Year Two 30/365 : 21st Century Breakdown

Andy and I were in Manchester at the MEN to see Green Day tonight... this is the second time we have been to see them and it was simply amazing!

It is unbelievable to think that Billie Joe, Tre and Mike have been a band for 21 years but when you see them together you can believe it. They have such chemistry together and put on such an amazing show.

I was happy to see that there were so many Brits that also love some good American punk music. I did however have a bit of an odd moment when they were singing 'American Idiot'. I did wonder what thousands of British people think of when they sing 'I don't want to be an American idiot'. hhmmmm...

I honestly believe that Oasis should be ashamed to even say they are from Manchester after this show. Here are three guys from Southern California who have been a band for only a few years longer than Oasis and they come to their home town of Manchester and show them how it should be done.

Next time Green Day are back in England you can count on Andy and I being there again!
