Everton season tickets go on sale Monday and we got our renewal packet in the post today. We have until April 17th to renew with an early bird discount.
We will be keeping our same seats because we love them and I feel moving anywhere else would put some kind of jinx on the team! haha
Year Two 157/365 : That Time Of Year Again
Year Two 144/365 : New Keychain
Year Two 143/365 : Rooney Rooney What's The Score?
Rooney what's the score?
Today was another great day out at Goodison Park. I will be completely honest I was so nervous about today's against Manchester United.
There is the whole Wayne Rooney aspect to playing them as he grew up supporting Everton, was in their youth team and played in their first team. Made comments such as 'Once a Blue always a Blue' only to move to Manchester United with a lot of cash in his pocket. Then he kissed the Man United badge at a match against Everton some years later... Let's just say he is not cheered when we play him. But today he was kept well and truly quiet.
Manchester United are one of the clubs which are considered 'The Big 4' and I think the last time Everton beat them in a regular season match was something like 2004 or 2005.
Well... until today!
United went up 0-1 after 15 minutes. I have to admit at that point I was terrified. I did not want us to lose this match and am made up that Diniyar Bilyaletdinov scored a screamer only a few minutes later. We were back in it!
We went into half time 1-1 and it wasn't until minute 79 when Dan Gosling who had just come on as a substitute scored and then at minute 90 Jack Rodwell scored the third.
Goodison Park was going crazy!
I am sure you all realize how happy we were. You don't have to be into football to get at least an idea of how exciting a match like this can be.
I have no idea how I lived without Football in my life for so long...
Year Two 139/365 : Best Non-Holiday Ever!
We had an early Everton match at 5:45pm today. It was a Europa League match against Sporting Lisbon. We won the match 2-1 but that goal we conceded in the last 5 minutes made the match feel like a loss to be honest. This game is over two matches and the Away Goal Rule comes into place. It is too hard to explain so if you would like to learn more about it you can read about it here.
It is also Pancake Day today. This is the best non-holiday ever! I of course opt for American style Pancakes rather than the UK Crepe style Pancakes.
They are so yummy! Andy hates any kind of Pancakes so he decided to have a Pot Noodle, so nutritious.
Year Two 133/365 : Kevin Is...
a butt munch!
During the day there are letters that I have to write to clients and various other people but before they can be posted off they all have to be approved and signed.
Well Christian who normally does all of the signing is away for a couple of days so Kevin does it while he is away. Hannah was taking her signing down so she asked if anybody had any that needed to go also. I gave her mine... it was a bad mistake!
This is how it was brought back to me. As you can guess Kevin supports Liverpool FC (ugh I even hate writing it...) and he decided to deface my beautifully decorated signings folder.
This is why Kevin is a butt munch!
Now I will need to decorate a new folder. Maybe I'll make a blue Everton one!
Speaking of Everton... there was a night match tonight against Chelsea and we won 2-1. The atmosphere at Goodison was electric! I love night matches. And since our last one was against Manchester City and we won that 2-0 I am thinking the boys like playing under the lights also.
Oh and on a side note Liverpool got beat by Arsenal tonight 1-0. Double yay!
Year Two 115/365 : Best Little Spaniard
Everton Are The Team To Follow
And Theres Nobody Better Than Mikel Arteta
He's The Best Ever Spaniard We Know
Best part of the day... Mikel Arteta (in the center of the photo running toward us) being named on the bench, watching him warm-up and getting 10 or so minutes in the game. He has been out injured since February 2009 (yes almost a year) and I am so glad he is okay to put in a few minutes here and there.
Worst part of the day... losing 1-2 and being knocked out of the FA Cup. Last year we made it all the way to the final. Boo.
Oh and in case you are wondering why there are so many empty seats... that top and bottom section is where the away fans sit. They just didn't bring enough people to fill the entire sections.
Year Two 112/365 : Dear Everton FC
Dear Everton FC,
We are not the richest club around as I am sure you would agree. Why may I ask have you wasted money on the postage to send us this?
I am sure with a little research it would have been easily verified that myself and my husband Andy have season tickets. There is no need to advertise the upcoming match against Chelsea as we will already be there and I would hope that our seats are already secured.
Just think.. this is 36 pence that could have gone toward the purchase of a new player.
Shame on you and your wasteful ways.
Still *LOVE* you though,
Christine xx
Year Two 108/365 : Fantastic Game!!
First let me start off by saying that tonight's match against Manchester City is the best I have seen Everton play all season. It was an amazing match and we ended up winning 2-0. Goodison Park was jumping and the singing never stopped. What a great night!
Oh... and Marouane Fellaini was a rockstar!!!
Now to comment about these photos. This girl was a few rows in front of us and she is not normally sat there so I think one of the others around her must have brought her. The photos I have posted do not really show the full craziness of her hair but you kinda get the idea. It was a mess!
I just don't know why these young girls think it is okay tease the heck out of their hair and then comb the top layer to give them volume. It is truly a rats nest.
It does not look good at all.
The sad thing is that she was really dressed up so she had to have been making an effort. Maybe she doesn't believe in mirrors?
Year Two 102/365 : USA.. USA.. USA
This is a calendar that Andy got for Christmas from his Secret Santa at work. I love gifts that I can enjoy also!
This is Tim Howard and he is the keeper for Everton. He is a fellow American and when he makes a great save everybody starts to chant USA.. USA.. USA.
Love him!

Year Two 94/365 : Wave Ruler
Andy's Dad's ship is docked in Liverpool this month so he was able to be with us on Christmas and it means he gets to go to a few Everton Matches with us.
Today was the 3rd round FA Cup match against Carlisle United. Before the match he needed to do some things on the ship so we got to go have a look around.
The above picture is of the Captain's Bridge. We were on the ship for about an hour and had a good look around. The scariest moment however was going up and down the stairs on the side of the ship. They were skinny and high! You can see them in the below photo just off to the right. Click on the picture and you will get a larger version. They were scary!
After the tour we were on our way to Goodison. It seemed liked a very long match and for most of it we were tied 1-1 but with 10 minutes left in the match (my man) Tim Cahill scored his 50th goal for Everton and then we were awarded a penalty and it ended 3-1. On to the 4th round!

Year Two 89/365 : Lower Gwladys
This is the area just under the Gwladys Street Stand at Goodison Park. Our season ticket seats are located in Lower Gwladys and it is known to be the best area when it comes to atmosphere at Goodison.
Today we were playing against Burnley and to honest it was a must win match for us. We are not at the bottom of the table but we have been hovering on the 2nd page of the table since the start of the season.
Thankfully we won 2-0 and it was great! The place went crazy and the players got a great sending off when the match ended. Unfortunately we have some tough matches coming up but hopefully we can build a bit of a winning streak.

Year Two 81/365 : Snow, Hail and Rain
We hit every kind of weather on our way to Liverpool today for the match. When we left Westhoughton it was snowing. Then we drove through some hail.
At one point it was even pouring down rain... Then it all of a sudden started snowing really heavy again. However the strangest bit had to be when we got into Liverpool and there was blue sky and sun. It truly was weird as we only live a little over 20 miles away from Liverpool.
However in the top picture you can see that during the match it started raining and then hailing really bad. The poor players had to continue play and I know they had to be freezing... but then I thought about all of the money they get paid to be out there and I stopped feeling sorry for them.

Year Two 78/365 : The Stocking Were Hung
I found our Christmas stockings in a drawer last night. I still come across things that were brought over in the move. We sold a lot of stuff before we left America and I forget what we have and what we don't have. So I was happy to find these and they are now hung above the fireplace.
We have been in our house a year now so today the landlord came over because he had to test the smoke detectors in the house. He also brought somebody around to build us a new gate for the back garden. The old gate did not close properly and it meant anybody could just come in and out. However I am sure even with the new gate if somebody wanted to get in the back garden they would just climb over the walls. I felt bad because it started to snow a little bit and it was bitter cold and the poor man was outside while building the gate. We got talking a little bit and I did find it funny when he asked me if I was Irish. Not been asked that before! It was also strange the way he took his coffee... black with a little bit of salt added. That is odd.
When Andy got home from work I had dinner ready as we were soon after heading out to Goodison for the Europa League match against FC BATE Borisov. We had already qualified for the knock out stages so we ended up fielding a very young team. It was like watching a reserve match but by us going to this game it gave us 15 Loyalty Points each on our Everton Customer numbers. The more Loyalty Points you have the earlier you are able to buy away match tickets so when it comes to us playing Liverpool FC at Anfield hopefully it is going to matches like this which will give us enough points to get a ticket.
If you look up at the area around the lights you can see that it started to lightly snow while we were there. To be honest the snow was the most exciting part of the match. Oh and we were c - o - l - d . . .

Year Two 68/365 : Heart And Soul
Year Two 67/365 : Cross Stitch and Football
A few days ago I won an auction on eBay for 150+ cross stitch magazines for £20. Since they would be so expensive to ship it was listed as pick up only. The lady selling them was in Blackpool which is about 28 miles away, so not that bad.
I talked Andy into going with me so that he could lift the plastic bin full of magazines the only trade off was that I had to drive... off we went. I am very pleased with the magazines! It will be a lot of fun to go through them all.
After we got back home we got ready to head off to Liverpool for the Everton match against Tottenham. Wow what a match! We went down 0-2 right after half time. With about 20 minutes left a lot of people started leaving.
I have a huge issue this! What kind of supporter can come to a match and then decide to leave with 20 minutes left to play? What kind of support is that? I find it ridiculous. There is a little old lady that sits in the front row of our section and every time we are down she comes up and complains to the steward that stands just behind me. She was having a right fit. Well she finally decided to go with 20 minutes to go.
Around 2 minutes after she left... Saha scored and the place went crazy. I think we have found our bad luck charm! As soon as she left we scored.
Then not too long after that Cahill scored again! I have been dying to see Cahill score at our end so that he could punch the corner flag in front of us. He does... and I was too busy screaming and jumping up and down to even watch.
Well then it got even crazier... in injury time the [idiotic] referee gave Tottenham a penalty. Well the crowd started chanting "USA USA USA" to pump up Tim Howard as he got ready to try to stop the kick. Did he stop it? Of course he did!
The place went crazy! Yes it was just a draw but I swear it felt like we just won the league. To come back after being 0-2 down and having so many people walking out and just giving up. I was so proud of the team to fight their way back and I am SO very happy that those jerks that left (including the complaining old lady) did not get to experience the last 20 minutes.
I swear if she complains to the steward behind me next time we are down I am going to turn around and tell her to go home because obviously when she does we start scoring!

Year Two 60/365 : Merseyside Derby
Andy and I went to the Everton v. Liverpool match today... otherwise known as the Merseyside Derby.
We played really well today, much better than over the last few weeks but we still lost 0-2. It was a very unlucky loss and even Liverpool supporters who called in on the radio on the drive home admitted that they were lucky today.
But oh well... life goes on. We have some really hard matches over the next two months so hopefully the team pulls together or we are going to find ourselves at the bottom of the table with half the season already played.

Year Two 36/365 : Bonfire Night
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Normally on Guy Fawkes Night you would see a picture of some beautiful fireworks or maybe a roaring bonfire... well this is what you get from me. Yes it's blurry but we were going like 60 mph but you get the idea.
This is a plume of smoke from one of the many bonfires we passed on our way to Liverpool. We passed plenty of fireworks also but I just couldn't get a good picture from the car. It was funny while we were walking to Goodison Park because it felt like we were under attack with all of the fireworks going off from all around us.
Unfortunately Everton lost 0-2 but it doesn't change the fact that I love Bonfire Night! I love the chill in the air and I love the smell of the bonfires. I know my cats could do without the fireworks but hey it makes up for the lack of them on July 4th.

Year Two 25/365 : It Could Be Worse...
I could be a Bolton FC Supporter! *shudder*
We only had to travel a few miles to the match today but unfortunately the result did not go our way. We were down 0-2, we came back after half time to 2-2 and then lost in the last 5 minutes 3-2.
I was shocked at how many seats were empty at the match. There are empty seats at Goodison but usually only the ones that have restricted viewing because of the old stadium and there are poles in the way for some seats.
Bolton even had cheerleaders on the pitch prior to the match... hahaha But the worst part was that they have a drum that they bang every time there was a goal kick and when they needed to try to get the home 'crowd' involved.
So yes we lost, we are not on our best form but I know we have 12 players injured right now who will be back this season. So yes we lost... but I could support Bolton!
Oh and while we were at the match we spotted a couple of things. James who is a co-worker has season tickets to Bolton (sorry about this anti Bolton blog James...) and I spotted him in the crowd. I guess it was easy to pick him out because of all of the empty seats (okay that was the last dig I promise).
And then when we were leaving Andy spotted an American flag hanging from the other side of the stadium.

Year Two 17/365 : The Chang Elephant
We were back at Goodison Park today for a match against Wolverhampton. We drew 1-1 with a late goal by Bilyaletdinov. I love this kid and I am so glad that he joined Everton! His name will be on the back of my next kit! However we should be winning games against teams like Wolverhampton and I really hope we find our form soon.
Before the match the Chang Elephant has a walk around the pitch so today I decided to take his picture. The earth globe thingy to right is new and must have had something to do with one of the promotions they had going on today. Chang is Everton's sponsor and their logo has two elephants on it, that is why it is an Elephant... in case you were wondering.

Andy and I were in Liverpool today for the Everton match against Stoke. We park pretty close to Andy's old school so I thought I would share a picture of it. He was here from 1989 - 1994 for secondary school.
We drew today 1-1. Honestly we did not play our best so to come out of the match with a point I think we did really well. We should be beating teams like Stoke though!
